postheadericon MPAA Boss: If The Chinese Censor The Internet Without A Problem, Why Can't The US?

The MPAA is pretty desperate, it seems. MPAA chief Chris Dodd tried to defend the censorship of the Internet this week use China as an example of why censorship is not a problem
. It's a bit shocking, really.

"When the Chinese said that Google had to block sites or they could not do [business] in their country, they managed to find a way to block sites ".
Is this really what Chris Dodd wants the U.S. government to aspire to? By creating your own Great Firewall?

His other comments were almost as ridiculous

"How do you justify a search engine to provide someone to steal something?" He asked in a recent interview at the Society of motion Picture and Television Engineers conference. "A guy who drives the getaway car does not necessarily rob the bank, but have in the bank and got out of him, as are the accessories, in my opinion."
But that does not fully understand and misrepresent the situation. Google is not the driver. Google is the automaker. Do we continue as a Ford accessory
is this kind of ridiculous that makes it so difficult to Dodd and MPAA seriously in these talks.
