The winners of the annual design of MEMS (microelectromechanical system) held by Sandia National Labs recently announced, and are quite impressive. CMU students and Texas Tech were honored and their designs are: Texas Tech team built a millimeter wide set of dragonfly wings, and CMU has an electrostatically activated microvalve.
