But in many parts of the world, lack of sanitary waste disposal is not only unpleasant, it can cause deadly diseases such as hepatitis, dysentery, trachoma, typhus and cholera. Enter Marc Deshusses, an engineer at Duke University environment has provided a system of innovative waste disposal and simply designed specifically for the Third World, which can be built from everyday objects. Now, as part of a larger project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, has received $ 100,000 Deshusses to refine and test the system in the laboratory before producing a prototype for field trials in 18 months .. .
