postheadericon Reports: Microsoft AV Erasing Google Chrome

Time to have fun, Microsoft. Yesterday, it was reported that Google's Chrome browser threatened to overtake Firefox in the coming months thanks to rising utilization rates, due in large part by deserters FF and IE. Then, this morning, Internet forums are flooded with rage because a new security update for Microsoft ForeFront AV Essentials software and began to call Chrome a Trojan and delete it from users' machines. Coincidence? Yes, it probably is. But that does not change the fact that usersannoying.

Both ZDNet and the Register are reporting that they've received numerous complaints about the false positive critical. Antivirus programs are the identification of chromium, as part of the Zeus Trojan, and users attempting to reinstall the browser are finding that the antivirus program will not allow it, citing "PWS: Win32/Zbot" as a serious threat. Register readers report that the beta version of Chrome is not affected, nor are the browsers that are configured to not send any official Google Nobody says anything at the moment -. Google and Microsoft have been minimal in the matter.
