social networking site warns against employers that require passwords for job seekers, saying the legal action is possible

Facebook beat in the practice of employers to request access to the accounts of its employees and potential employees.

social network Privacy Erin Egan called the practice "troubling" and threatened legal action against companies that violate the privacy of its users.

"If you are a Facebook user, you should never have to share your password, let anyone access your account, or do anything that might endanger the security of your account or violate the privacy of their friends, "wrote Friday blogpost.

Egan has warned that employers who are asked to access can be themselves for problems that are not anticipated. "For example, if an employer is on Facebook that someone is a member of a protected group (eg, over a certain age, etc.) that the employer may be open to discrimination claims if they do not hire this person, "wrote employers also face liabilities if not handled properly private information, said Egan.
