Scientists have created a new sensor system, designed to spot potentially hazardous debris...

When the Air France Concorde flight 4590 was the launch of Charles de Gaulle International Airport in July 2000, it ran over a piece of debris left on the runway by another aircraft. This incident caused the tire to burst, sending pieces flying in on the underside of the Concorde. This in turn caused a fuel tank to rupture, to catch the leaking oil into the fire, and ultimately led to the crash of the aircraft ... If there's one thing that this event proved, is that dirt can be dangerous on the slopes. While human crews are already doing manually to check for such deposits, German scientists have an automated system that they claim should do a better job created ...
