postheadericon Firefox 8 To Stop Unauthorized Add-ons In Their Tracks

If 's' s one thing we hate, it 's Brussels sprouts. If it 's two Things we hate, it 's Brussels sprouts and sneaky programs that automatically install add-ons in our web browsers. Turns out, we 're not the only ones. Those pesky approved add-ons have a thorn in the eye of Mozilla, the shoulders have been to blame, as the attacker and cause browser crashes lags. If Firefox 8 rolls around, not authorized add-ons will be a thing of the past: the browser won 't allow installations without the express consent of the user.

"When Firefox starts, noting that some other program installs an add-on will disable the Firefox add-on, until the user explicitly decided in addition," Mozilla Add-on Manager Justin Scott wrote about the organization 's add-ons blog. "The users that the functionality of an installed third-party add-on can allow easy installation, while the user can not cancel or ignore the prompt. \ Want to accidentally"

Ingenious, huh? The utility doesn 't enough, the first eight boats to Firefox, the browser will be prompted with a list of all add-ons and helpful information about which of them were installed without your consent. The ones you 've installed in browsers are automatically enabled, while the rogue add-ons disabled, if you say, specifically Firefox to activate it.

Expect Firefox 8 to hit the webs on November 8, keeping in line with Mozilla's new rapid-release schedule for the browser.
