We've all been there: the fire of a YouTube clip or a movie from Netflix and things start to go very well. But then after a while, that LTE connection starts to give up the ghost and suddenly you are faced with unbearable stutturing video or just died halfway. Researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications seeks to solve the puzzle with DASH, or Dynamic adaptive streaming over HTTP. The idea is actually surprisingly simple - files of different sizes and grades are available depending on signal strength and network load, and power will be able to easily switch between them as the change of variables.
